I need to produce a newsletter monthly A3 collated to a4 double sided. Approx 40 pages per newsletter. Will the OKI-C823dn be able to cope with this?

The OKI C823dn will have options within the driver, all you would need to do is change the 'Page Scaling' to 'Booklet Printing', and change the 'Booklet Subset' to 'Both Sides'. Then you would just need to change your paper size to A3 and begin printing. The OKI C823dn has a recommended print volume of up to 5,000 pages per month, so it is more than capable. Does the C823DN use the same toner cartridges as the CN822DN?

Yes, the OKI C823dn can print on A5 media. It can print A5 simplex as well as A5 duplex.
