Q. A review of this printer said it had two trays, the normal one and one at the rear. But one of the answers to the questions states it has only one tray. Do any of eco type printers have two trays and take 300gsm. It is not ideal putting 300gsm in a tray underneath the printer.

A. Hi, the Epson EcoTank ET-7700 has two paper trays and a rear paper feed. Tray 1 and tray 2 can each take 300gsm media.

Q. Does the ink dry up if not used for a while - as ordinary cartridges do?

A. Thank you for your question. Ink cartridges are provided with an expiration date on the packaging. As long as they are stored within normal conditions they should have no problem reaching the expiration date with no degradation in quality.

Q. What is the purpose of the "maintenance box" that is included?

A. Hi, the purpose of the Genuine Epson Maintenance Box is to collect any excess print residue passed through the print heads, this ensures that the printer stays clean.

Q. where is the paper tray located and dose the printer print on DVD's

A. The Epson EcoTank ET-7700 has a 100 Sheet Paper Tray is located at the Base of the printer. Yes, this model does support CD/DVD printing.

Q. Are the 2 paper trays separate from each other. Can I have A4 plain paper in say tray one and 10x15cm photo paper in the other. and can the printer automatically choose the correct tray?

A. Unfortunately, the Epson EcoTank ET-7700 only has a single 100 Sheet Input Tray. But it can handle 10 x 15 cm photo paper within this input tray.

Excellent Printer

I bought an Epson XP-620 2 years ago but would have preferred a "Tank" printer but at the time none had 2 paper input trays, this ET-7700 has addressed that problem with 2 trays plus an option to feed envelopes etc into a slot at the rear top. The printer was no problem to set up filling the tanks etc. Print outs photos and A4's are good quality. Scanner works fine. I am looking forward to lots of printing without changing cartridges.
