I have a Canon Pixma iX 6550...seems that it has given up the ghost...error message indicates printer head fault which will not clear despite several removals and cleaning....so maybe it needs replacing. The printer hass been excellent for my requirements it takes heavy weight media and prints flat..
Can you please advise...is the Canon Pixma iX 6850 a sutable replacement does it have all the features that my Ix6550 has. ??

The Canon PIXMA iX6850 is the direct replacement for the Canon PIXMA iX6550, and features very similar specifications. The iX6850 is more updated, featuring network, wireless and Apple AirPrint connectivity as well as USB connectivity as standard. It also features slightly faster print speeds, but other specifications such as media handling and print resolution remain the same as your existing printer.

The Canon PIXMA iX6850 supports Windows 10 and is capable of printing on Canon Photo Media up 300gsm. Unfortunately we can not advise whether it will handle all 300gsm media types.

Unfortunately the Canon PIXMA iX6850 uses CLI-551 and PGI-550 ink cartridges whereas the Canon PIXMA iX5000 uses CLI-8 and PGI-5 inks.
