The Canon PIXMA iP8750 comes with the following ink cartridges: Photo Black (300 Pages), Black (495 Pages), Cyan (304 Pages), Magenta (298 Pages), Yellow (330 Pages) and Grey (125 Pages). These are standard sized cartridges but some ink may be used during the initial set-up which is why they are classed as set-up ink cartridges.

The Canon PIXMA iP8750 supports various photograph paper as standard. But you are able to set up new printing profiles via the driver settings.

What would be the best ink combination for printing high quality monochrome prints?

The Canon PIXMA iP8750 requires all 6 ink cartridges in order to print in monochrome as the printer will still need to use small amounts of colour to produce the highest quality prints.
