Q. When printing A3 - does the paper come out the top or do you have to pull out the lower tray? When using A3 paper does the lower paper feed tray sit proud of the main body of the printer and if so what is the total depth?

A. When using A3 media, the Brother MFC-J6930DW's tray will need to be extended to support the larger media size. With the cassette extended completely, the depth of the printer is increased to 766mm. When printing in A3, the media comes out of the lower tray, so this would also need to be extended before printing. Full instructions on how to do this are available within the Brother MFC-J6930DW's user guide.

Q. Does it scan via an A3 compatible flatbed scanner?

A. The Brother MFC-J6930DW is capable of A3 scan via the flatbed scanner.

Q. Can you put A4 in the standard tray and A3 in the lower tray and select them individually?

A. Yes. The MFC-J6930DW can handle media sizes up to A3 in both the standard tray and the lower tray, so you could have A4 in one tray, and A3 in the other. From the driver you are able to select which tray to use per job. You also have the ability to set a default tray based on the type of task. For full information on the tray set-up please refer to the Paper Handling and Print sections of the User Manual.

Q. Can it scan double sided A3 documents automatically from the feeder?

A. The MFC-J6930DW is capable of scanning double sided for A3 documents.

Q. Can it print borderless??

A. Yes, the Brother MFC-J6930DW is capable of borderless printing on sheet paper and photograph paper. This option is available within the printers driver settings but it is not available for envelope or double-sided printing.

Q. What kind of ink does this printer use? Will the printing get smudge?

A. Hi, the Brother MFC-J6930DW uses pigment based ink. The print should be dry when it comes out of the printer.

Q. Is the printing waterproof? Like will it smudge ?

A. Hi, Unfortunately the ink used in the Brother MFC-J6930DW is not waterproof. The ink is however dry when it comes out of the printer.

Q. Can this printer print photo on canvas?

A. The Brother MFC-J6930DW is only capable of handling Plain, Inkjet, Glossy and Recycled media up to 260gsm in weight.

After trawling the internet looking for this printer and some like it I discovered the Printerland website. The price I paid was the cheapest I had found and the ordering process was very easy. There was an issue with payment but a quick call to customer services sorted that out. Very quick delivery the order was placed on the Friday and printer was delivered early Monday morning.

Good All Round

Have used earlier versions of this A3 printer scanner fax machine before and have always found them simple to connect up operate and maintain. This one works slightly differently from my last one but not difficult to work out although I am still coming to terms with paper sizing in some modes. Overall a good buy and excellent service.

Excellent Service

Telephone query about which functions were A3 was answered quickly by a knowledgeable person. Printer ordered on Friday pm and was delivered Saturday lunchtime all without endless emails and text's. The printer itself is as advertised. It took a while to set up but the quick set up instructions were easy to follow. Main instruction book is on line not a hard copy. This is a much more robust printer than the A3 brother which it has replaced. JP
