    What is AirPrint?

    Apple AirPrint allows full colour, top-quality printing from iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads directly from within many Apps available from the Apple App Store.

    To take advantage of AirPrint, your compatible printer must be connected to the same wireless network as your iOS device or Mac computer.

    AirPrint enables users to print wirelessly from within applications on Apple devices to AirPrint Compatible Printers connected to a wireless network.     What You See is What You Print

    If you can open it on your apple device, chances are you can print it with AirPrint and an AirPrint compatible printer. Airprint works with Safari, Mail, Photos, iWork, PDF's in iBooks and many third-party AirPrint compatible apps available from the app store.

    There are also a wide variety of third-party apps available to enable wireless printing through Apple devices, even to machines that are not natively AirPrint compatible printers. Q. Can the scanner be controlled from the phone app.

The Brother MFC-J4540DWXL is compatible with the Brother Mobile Connect app which allows you to use your machine's features directly from your mobile device. The printer will need to be connected to the same wireless network as your mobile device in order for the Brother Mobile Connect app to work correctly.
Q. What thickness of paper can this printer handle
A.

The Brother MFC-J4540DWXL can handle a maximum media weight of 120gsm via the lower tray, 220gsm via the standard tray and up to 300gsm via the manual feed.
Q. Does this Mac scan double sided? Thank you
A. The Brother MFC-J4540DWXL is not able to scan double-sided documents automatically, but this can be done via a manual process via the simplex ADF or Flatbed scanner.
