Q. How does one use Tray 1?

A. Hi, to load paper in the tray 1 you must firstly move the paper width guides in the single-sheet priority feed slot outward. Once completed, place the top edge of the sheet at the opening, and then adjust the side guides to fit the media. Insert the single sheet into the slot and hold it. The printer will pull the sheet partially into the paper path. Furthermore, at the computer begin the printing process from the software application. Ensure that the driver is set to the correct paper type and size for the paper being printed from the single-sheet priority feed slot.

Q. Does this printer print onto 300gsm cardstock? Kind Regards

A. The HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw will only take up to 163gsm cardstock. If you require a printer capable of printing onto media as heavy as 300gsm, please give our Sales Team a call on 0800 840 1992.

Q. Is the M254dw compatible with a late-2014 mac?

A. There are only drivers available for the HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw to support Mac OS 10.5 and higher. If your mac is running on OS 10.5 or higher then it will be compatible with the printer once the correct drivers are installed.

Q. Does this printer come complete with cartridges?

A. The HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw ships with a 800 page black and 700 page cyan, magenta and yellow starter toner cartridge. Replacement toner cartridges for this printer are available on our HP Color LaserJet Pro M254 Toner Cartridges page.

Q. hello ,hp color laser jet M254DW Can I change only one colour black or red when is finish in this printer or I need to buy and change all set ? thank you

A. Hi, If a cartridge is expended and requires replacement, only the expended cartridge needs to be replaced. The HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw doesn't include the cartridge out over-ride option, therefore if all the colour cartridges run out, they would need to be replaced in order to print black.

Q. Hello Does the HP Colour Laser Jet Pro M254 work if only black toner cartridge loaded? OR do colour cartridges need to be loaded to print in black. Thanks Ann

A. Hi, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw doesn't include the Cartridge Out Over-Ride feature and therefore requires both colour and black cartridges to be loaded in order to print.

Q. Are you able to scan and copy with this printer?

A. Unfortunately, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw is a single function printer so it does not have the ability to scan or copy. We would recommend looking at the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw as this model features similar specifications but does have the ability to scan and copy.

Q. Could you please tell me whether this printer would print on 300g card. If not, which printer would be good for this type of printing? Many thanks Carol

A. Unfortunately, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw can only support media up to 220gsm. If you would like any advice on printers which do support 300gsm, please give our Sales Team a call on 0800 840 1992.

Excellent Printer

I bought this printer in December and have found it to be an excellent purchase. The printer was delivered on time and the setup of the printer was exceptionally easy. The printer has delivered on its promise with single and doubled sided printing in clear type and colour. Despite some people having trouble with the setting up of the printer, I had no problems at all. The best printer I have had.

Great printer & easy to set up

This is a very good printer. I have a small business for which I need to print on paper as small as 95 x 170 mm and this printer is easily able to print onto this size and paper thickness of 140gsm. It was incredibly easy to set up - took me about 25 minutes. It's also quite small and compact so doesn't look too big in my small room. I would definitely recommend.

Purchase of HP Laser Printer

Most impressive service with next day delivery even though ordered at 4.00pm, and, especially noteworthy, was the phone call, before processing the order, from an agent who checked with me the details of my printer usage to be sure that the printer was suitable for me. The icing on the cake came when I unpacked the printer to find it had toner cartridges installed, despite the unbelievable low price of the object. Very good.

A real Ronseal Printer

Does *exactly* what it says on the tin - and very well too. When I bought mine, HP had cash-back offers for the printer itself, toner, and a free warranty extension that includes pick-up and delivery; so, for 500 quid, including VAT, I now have a printer that's good for 3 years and 3,200 pages of colour or 7,500 of black and white. The print quality is great, although photos tend to need 'brightening', and I particularly like the fact that it's a duplex printer; although I worry a little about how robust the feed mechanism is if you do a lot of it. It also takes a bit of time to "warm up" when you first turn it on. My only criticism is that the cash-back procedure is a bit 'fiddly'; but for 150 quid, I can suffer a bit of bureaucracy.
