Unfortunately, the Samsung M2675FN does not feature double-sided scanning so documents would have to be turned over manually via the Flatbed scanner and the ADF scanner. The printer features manual duplex printing which also means to print on both sides, you would need to manually feed it back through.

Does this product work without loading colour cartridges, ie if you wanted to only use it for black and white copies and not have to purchase the colour cartridges?

The Samsung M2675FN is a mono multifunction laser printer, which only prints in Black and White. So you would only ever need to buy black toner cartridges. However, most colour laser printers offer mono printing, they still use the coloured cartridges to provide a high print quality.

Whats the difference between this and the Samsung M2885FW? The specs look identical apart from slightly slower print speed? Is one older/ print better quality?

The Samsung M2675FN has a USB and Network interface only, and it does have a slightly slower speed at 26ppm Mono print. Whereas the Samsung M2885FW has a Wireless interface and also includes automatic double-sided printing at a slightly faster 28ppm Mono print.
