The Fujitsu fi-7480 is a compact scanner designed to handle large mixed batches.
Compact with a wide range of features
The fi-7480 is equipped to handle paper sizes ranging from A8 to A3 and folded A2 documents as well as plastic cards. Varying degrees of paper thickness from 27 to 413gsm are accommodated.
The scanner will output up to 160 images per minute, in colour, grayscale, and monochrome. Mixed batches are no issue: the fi-7480 will recognise and sort mixed batches eliminating the need for pre-sorting. The DADF (duplex automatic document feeder), which can accommodate 100 sheets of A4 at a time, will also safely receive additional sheets during a scanning operation.
Document safety
Several functions contribute to this scanner's excellent document safety. Paper output speed is controlled by a stacking function, so no time is wasted realigning an untidy mess of papers.
Multifeed detection quickly detects when too many documents are fed at once and iSOP (Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection) protects both documentation and the device by detecting wrinkles, creasing or potentially harmful objects like paper clips. For further user control, a single scan mode halts the process after each document so particularly delicate tasks can remain supervised.
Excellent image processing
The fi-7480, as with all Fujitsu’s fi-series scanners, has PaperStream, featuring the latest in image processing technology. PaperStream automatically handles inconsistent backgrounds and blurry or indistinct characters, adding uniformity and clarity where needed.
All TWAIN applications are compatible out of the box. Detailed thumbnails and zoom function empower the user to make quick decisions about image quality and the Assisted Scan feature enables image rescanning, comparing and replacing in a simple GUI (graphical user interface). This mode also tracks changes in a real-time preview.
Simple to use
The Fujitsu fi-7480 comes with PaperStream Capture. This software makes it easy for new users to incorporate the device into their workflow. Generic profiles for common tasks are provided and the user can customise these for more specific tasks via an in-built wizard.
Data extraction and organisation is available for batch scanning needs. Scanned documents can be sorted any number of ways by, for example, Zonal OCR or barcodes if present. These may also be extracted as separate data if required.
