Apple AirPrint allows full colour, top-quality printing from iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads directly from within many Apps available from the Apple App Store.
To take advantage of AirPrint, your compatible printer must be connected to the same wireless network as your iOS device or Mac computer.
AirPrint enables users to print wirelessly from within applications on Apple devices to AirPrint Compatible Printers connected to a wireless network. You can use your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to easily print via Airprint without the need to install drivers or configure the printer queue. Just tap 'print' and select your AirPrint compatible printer, and print!....It's that simple.
What You See is What You Print
If you can open it on your apple device, chances are you can print it with AirPrint and an AirPrint compatible printer. Airprint works with Safari, Mail, Photos, iWork, PDF's in iBooks and many third-party AirPrint compatible apps available from the app store.
There are also a wide variety of third-party apps available to enable wireless printing through Apple devices, even to machines that are not natively AirPrint compatible printers. By sharing a printer installed on an Apple Mac or Windows Pc over a wireless network any printer may be able to take advantage of the AirPrint features. (An additional third-party app may be required to be installed on the local machine)

What is Mopria?
Mopria is a simple solution created to enable seamless printing from Android devices to any Mopria-certified printer. It gives users the ability to connect to any compatible printer nearby and eliminates the need for additional drivers or software.

Most Android devices now come with Mopria Print Service preinstalled, but if it doesn’t you can download the Mopria Print Service App from Google Play or from the Mopria website. The app allows users to customise print settings from changing the colour or orientation of a document to selecting double-sided printing or choosing the right paper size and media type. If an app on your mobile device has a print option, you can use Mopria to print documents, PDF’s, emails, web pages, photos or other content you may need.
Once you’ve enabled the 'Printer Skill' from your Amazon Alexa app printing becomes just as easy as talking. You can print various pre-formatted documents such as shopping lists, calendars, puzzles or even colouring pages - and all you need to do is ask!
How to Print
Firstly, you’d need to obtain your printers email address to link it to Alexa. This can be located via your printers control panel, or by printing off a Web Services information sheet.
Now you can enable the Print Skill from your smartphone or tablet using the Alexa App, or you can enable this skill via the Amazon website if you’re using a computer.
Then all you need to do is enter the email address for you printer, tap finish and start printing.
You can now ask your Echo or other Alexa device to print straight to your printer:
“Alexa, ask my Printer to…” and then follow with the content you wish to print. It’s as simple as that.

Awful,
I'm not sure I can blame our woes with this printer on it being faulty or it's just a really bad product. All it takes is to send one print job to the printer and it starts to go wrong.
- Paper jams dog eared pages takes multiple pages
- Very often prints just 10-20cm of top of page and then blank the rest
- send one page and you might get half a first page 1 2 or 3 blank pages next and then if your luck is in maybe you might get the proper print
- If you do get a good print I'd say it takes a good 3-5 minutes from sending to print occasionaly takes over an hour.
- Constantly says offline It's connected via wi-fi through Google next wifi on a 40 gb connection from a Windows 10 desktop which is fully updated every other device in my house sings a tune with wi-fi but this Canon printer can't handle a simple print request

Disappointed - Canon can do better
I was limited on what i could get hold of because of the pandemic, but trusted Canon based on past experience. Printerland service was excellent, and I found the whole process smooth and the item was delivered on time. The printer has been really disappointing. It's hard to do anything without the manual as the process is so complicated. The display is tiny - which I didn't think would be an issue, but it really is. The document feeder is poor - sheets go through on an angle and often it pulls more than one sheet at the end of the pile. WiFi is hit and miss - we have a good signal here, but the printer requires restarting frequently. I will try Ethernet when I have time to read the manual. Print quality is ok, but sometimes stripy. Paper source selection from a mobile device is confusing to say the least, and should be so simple. I would not recommend this printer.

My new printer
When my HP printer, purchased in 2015 for uni work, decided to die, I researched and found Canon's inkwell printer to be what I wanted. I'm tired of expensive cartridges and trying to find them locally. The printer was a little complicated to get set up-especially the wi-fi, (I still enter the password manually each time I turn the printer on), and I would prefer a back lit display, but the quality of product it produces is excellent.
