Speed and print quality are inevitable aspects for a good printer. Creating magic on paper, Dell 1720dn Laser Printer is an excellent device for getting high quality prints that too very fast.
A versatile machine: This is one of the best available in the market of its kind. Maximum speed for A4(210 x 297 mm) are up to 28 ppm and for ANSIA (Letter) (216 x 279 mm) are up to 30 ppm. For black and white prints it has a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi. Utmost perfection is attained with 2400 IQ Image Enhancement Technology.
Fonts included are 2 x bitmapped, 89 x scalable and 89 x PostScript. The monochrome laser printer supports a wide variety of media types like envelopes, transparencies, labels, plain paper and cards. Media sizes supported are ANSI A (Letter) (216 x 279 mm), Legal (216 x 356 mm), Executive (184 x 267 mm), A4 (210 x 297 mm), A5 (148 x 210 mm), Folio (216 x 330 mm), JIS B5 (182 x 257 mm) and Statement (139.7 x 215.9 mm). Envelopes too have a choice of sizes. They are US No 10 (104.7 x 241.3 mm), International DL (110 x 220 mm), International C5 (162 x 229 mm), International B5 (176 x 250 mm), US No 9 (98.6 x 225.6 mm). Total media capacity is 250 sheets. It can handle a media weight between 90 g/m2 and 160 g/ m2. However, the maximum media capacity is as large as 800 sheets. Output tray capacity is 150 sheets. Monthly duty cycle of this efficient device is 25000 pages.
Connectivity: Dell 1720dn Monochrome Laser Printer is Blue Angel Compliant. As interfaces it has one parallel – IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) – 36 PIN Centronics, one USB – 4 PIN USB Type B and one network – Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX – RJ-45. It has a security lock slot where cable lock is sold separately.
The machine with an internal power supply requires 230 V AC for a smooth performance. Operational power consumption is 400 Watt where as in the sleep mode it is just 10 Watt. It is EPA Energy Star Compliant. It gives a very limited sound emission which is just 51 dBA while in use and 25 dBA while idle.
It has an installed RAM of 32 MB which can be expanded to 160 MB. Processor is ARM ARM9 366 MHz.
