    What is AirPrint?

    Apple AirPrint allows full colour, top-quality printing from iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads directly from within many Apps available from the Apple App Store.

    To take advantage of AirPrint, your compatible printer must be connected to the same wireless network as your iOS device or Mac computer.

    AirPrint enables users to print wirelessly from within applications on Apple devices to AirPrint Compatible Printers connected to a wireless network. You can use your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to easily print via Airprint without the need to install drivers or configure the printer queue. Just tap 'print' and select your AirPrint compatible printer, and print!....It's that simple.

    What You See is What You Print

    If you can open it on your apple device, chances are you can print it with AirPrint and an AirPrint compatible printer. Airprint works with Safari, Mail, Photos, iWork, PDF's in iBooks and many third-party AirPrint compatible apps available from the app store.

    Third-Party Apps

    There are also a wide variety of third-party apps available to enable wireless printing through Apple devices, even to machines that are not natively AirPrint compatible printers. By sharing a printer installed on an Apple Mac or Windows Pc over a wireless network any printer may be able to take advantage of the AirPrint features. (An additional third-party app may be required to be installed on the local machine)

    Voice Activated Printing with Amazon Alexa

    Once you’ve enabled the 'Printer Skill' from your Amazon Alexa app printing becomes just as easy as talking. You can print various pre-formatted documents such as shopping lists, calendars, puzzles or even colouring pages - and all you need to do is ask!


    How to Print

    Firstly, you’d need to obtain your printers email address to link it to Alexa. This can be located via your printers control panel, or by printing off a Web Services information sheet.

    Now you can enable the Print Skill from your smartphone or tablet using the Alexa App, or you can enable this skill via the Amazon website if you’re using a computer.

    Then all you need to do is enter the email address for you printer, tap finish and start printing.

    You can now ask your Echo or other Alexa device to print straight to your printer:


    “Alexa, ask my Printer to…” and then follow with the content you wish to print. It’s as simple as that.

Q. will my hp 933 cartridges fit the upgraded printer of hp officejet 7740 which i believe os the upgrade from the 7612 which i currently have?
A. The HP Officejet 7740 uses the HP 953 Ink Cartridges whereas the HP Officejet 7612 uses the HP 933 Ink Cartridges.

Q. Does this printer take A4 paper also?
A. Hi, Yes the HP Officejet 7612 takes A4 sized media.
Q. Does the printer have a rear manual feed to load A3 paper or does it use the paper tray at the front only? I have a manual rear load feed machine at the moment which is awkward to use.
A. Hi, Unfortunately the HP Officejet 7612 does not have a rear manual feed. You can load A3 media in the paper tray at the front. Ensure you raise the output tray and then pull out the input tray extender to load over-sized paper. Slide out the paper width guides as far as possible and insert a stack of clean, unused, plain paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side down.
Q. What is the maximum paper weight this printer takes?
A. Hi, the HP Officejet 7612 supports a maximum paper weight of 250gsm, and 300gsm photo paper.
Q. Can I scan a4 doc to my desk top with this printer.
A. Hi, Yes the HP Officejet 7612 supports the scan to PC feature.
Q. Will this printer produce enlargements and if so at what increments?
A. When copying, HP Officejet 7612 is capable of reducing or enlarging a document from 25 to 400% in 1% increments.
Q. Can this printer do duplex scanning/copying?

Excellent
So far this printer has proved to be the best of the multi-function printers I have had so far. It handles paper sizes very well and changing ink is reasonably easy. It has only one negative and that is its inability to load single sheets easily it is fiddily but still workable. An around good quality printer with HP's usual high quality output.
